Who’s Watching Me?

As a society we have to decide sometime in our life, what do we stand for? Are we a person of integrity? Everyone says they are all about honesty, and integrity. At the same time many people will compromise and adjust there integrity depending the situation. The reality is you either are a person of integrity, or you are not. The question you should ask yourself is, “who’s watching me?”

Every time I make a decision in my life based on an issue of integrity, I ask myself “who’s watching.” The answer is my kids, my family and is this the type of choice I want them to model or not? Is this the type of person I want them to be? Is this going to reflect the proper behavior for there life? One could argue that this is more important or has more impact when your family is younger and I would argue this is a life long discipline.

Whenever you make a decision based on integrity, ask “who’s watching me?”  The answer is everyone in your world! Your family is observing where your boundaries are, and what you consider acceptable behavior. Your family, friends, co-workers, church members, neighbors are seeing what you believe is important. What signals are you sending? Are your actions consistent with the words you use?

You as the leader of your family you set the standard of acceptable behavior and you show the world what your convictions truly are. Every person you come in contact with in your personal and professional life, you model what you stand for. At that point you are simultaneously training the people you have contact with and every person they share this experience with. Your span of influence is much greater than you think and the words you use and the actions you model are showing the world who you are.

Ask yourself am I living a life of mixed signals or am I living a life of integrity?

Beach Baby Boogie!

This is a small pint size group of boogie boarders in La Jolla California. Now, what struck me as so funny is I can just imagine this little boy with the big star on his shirt, can we probably agree he’s the ring leader. I envision him giving the group a pep talk that would sound something like this; “OK, if they can do it, so can we! Let’s go out there and show these grown ups how it’s done, are ya with me? “Maybe that’s not the exact words but you get where I’m going with it… Nothing is gonna stop this little guy in life 🙂 Photography is great because every photograph has a tale, a story, and a history.

Its funny most people don’t know the difference between Boogie Boards (Bodyboards) and Skimboards, this pic is a Skimboarder but “California Boogie” made a better caption 🙂 The best So Cal Skimboard beaches are in and around Laguna Beach, but this was taken at Newport Beach. This guy on the next run wiped out, big! That photo I’ll post at a later date. Skimboards are fun because you attack or launch into the wave from the shoreline. All surfing is fun from Surfboards, Skimboards, to Bodyboards, heck you don’t even need a board, body surfing is also a blast. Anytime you’re having fun in the surf, it’s a Great Day!

West Lake at Sunset

West Lake is a freshwater lake located in the historic area of Hangzhou the capital of Zhejiang province in eastern China, not far from Shanghai. West Lake is enormous and beautiful, it has an open ocean feel to it. West Lake has influenced poets and painters throughout the ages for its natural beauty and it has been among the most important sources of inspiration for Chinese garden designers thought the centuries. Hangzhou is an area of great natural beauty and art. Even though Hangzhou is a big city, it maintains this out in the country feel, very relaxed, and slow paced. I would much rather spend time here than in Shanghai, but that is my opinion only.

Alaskan Graveyard

This was taken at a cemetery in Bethel Alaska; it was off the main road near a school. What did catch my eye was all the white wooden crosses, that’s something I imagined back in the early days of our counties birth or maybe even in the Wild West days. It was beautiful and very peaceful. Of course with a backdrop of cold air and snow, it does have a certain eerie and frigged appeal. The phrase, may the peace of the Lord be with you always, does have a different meaning out here, amongst the resting occupants in this isolated frozen tundra.

Taiwan Bullet Train

Taiwan High Speed Rail (THSR) system runs approximately 345 km (214 mi) along the west coast of Taiwan from the national capital Taipei to the southern city of Kaohsiung. In it’s first three years in business the THSR carried its first 100 million passengers and in the follow two years broke the 200 million mark. The THSR runs at a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph) from Taipei to Zuoying in as little as 96 minutes, reaching almost 90% of Taiwan’s population. These trains are very smooth, when I road it, the experience was more like air travel, the service is similar, and I loved it! If we had High Speed Rail in the USA; I would be a passenger, no doubt about it. If you want a cool experience, try the THSR for yourself.
